Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada

Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada, also called LINC, is a formal classroom style, government approved program, led by a qualified instructor. Students make measured progress through Canadian Language Benchmark levels based on four categories: listening, speaking, reading and writing.

The Immigrant Welcome Centre currently offers classes for CLB levels 1-3. If you are interested in any level of LINC classes, we want to hear from you!

To join a LINC class, you must be a newcomer to Canada and 17 years old or older. Classes are friendly, and focus on practical English and information about life in Canada. Through this class you will learn valuable skills for living and working in Canada.
