Local freelance volunteer gives IWC a series of new custom pictures

In the last month, we had the pleasure to work with Anna Cornelissen from Avue Design to get a series of custom pictures that represented our offerings, and that showed real-life moments from our day-to-day operations.

Anna visited both our offices in Campbell River and Courtenay, including the LINC classes at Excel College, and captured some amazing pictures of our staff, students, and volunteers.

Anna said she had wanted to collaborate with the Immigrant Welcome Centre for some time: “Since immigrating to Canada in 2013 from the Netherlands, I’ve always wanted to get involved with IWC as a volunteer. As a passionate semi-professional photographer with a keen interest to capture the diversity of people and cultures, this volunteer opportunity seemed like the perfect way to contribute [to the organization].”

We’d like to thank Anna for her professionalism and for donating her time to work on this project. A huge thank you also goes to staff, volunteers, and LINC students for helping, and for their willingness to spread the word about how the Immigrant Welcome Centre helps newcomers and immigrants to settle and thrive in our communities.
