Immigrant Welcome Centre (IWC) executive director Jim Brennan and Welcoming Communities Coalition (WCC) coordinator Dr. Toyin Kareem presented to the City of Courtenay at its July 26 council meeting.
Brennan provided councilors with an overview of the IWC and encouraged continuing collaboration between our organization and the city. Dr. Kareem provided a brief summary of the coalition’s Needs Assessment survey findings, including the biggest challenges facing newcomers in Campbell River and the Comox Valley and recommendations.
