The Welcoming Communities Coalition invites you to join us as we deepen our understanding of the needs, gaps, and challenges facing immigrants and refugees settling in Port Hardy and Port McNeill.
We want to hear voices from a variety of sectors in the community about how we can make the North Island more welcoming to newcomers.
Register for our free forum where we talk about challenges such as barriers to meaningful employment, workplace inclusion, social isolation, navigating systems, and quality of life.
We will ask you to think about:
- What do you see as the main challenges and needs facing successful settlement in our communities?
- What strengths do we have as a community to welcome people? What is already working?
- What are some ideas for future projects or collaborations? What needs and challenges should be prioritized?
We have two opportunities to meet:
Port Hardy
Where: Kwa’lilas Hotel (9040 Granville St., Port Hardy)
When: Wednesday, Sept. 27, 9 to 11 a.m.
