Here’s how you can support the Immigrant Welcome Centre

From April 2020 to March 2021 we provided free settlement services, programs, and language classes to more than 700 clients from 78 countries of origin!

We want our communities to be places where newcomers feel welcome, safe, and respected.

There are a number of ways you can support us as we work toward this goal, as well as help us spread the word about what we do to assist newcomers in the community:

  • Become a member and play a valuable role in supporting our organization and clients
  • Subscribe to our monthly e-newsletter
  • Follow us on Facebook
  • Take the #DifferentTogether pledge – and send a photo to us at info@immigrantwelcome.ca
  • Continue to read this blog where we post resources related to inclusion and diversity, upcoming events and programs, and the work of our Welcoming Communities Coalition

Becoming a member is a simple yet significant way you can support us. Membership is only $10 a year for an individual and helps us maintain our status as a non-profit society. Members can also attend our annual general meeting (AGM) and vote to elect our Board of Directors. The Board’s role is to monitor our financial and operational management and long-term strategic planning.

If you become a member by June 30th you will have your name entered in a draw for a chance to win our Canada Day gift basket. You can complete an online form or print and drop off a membership form at our Courtenay or Campbell River offices – both options are available here.

Your support assists us in our work to retain newcomers within the community while helping them thrive, and makes your community a better place to live. Thank you!
